# Job Opportunity – Intermediate ICU / Progressive Care Telemetry RN – North Carolina Start Date: October 19, 2026
Location: Charlotte, North Carolina
Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants
Schedule: 12-hour night shifts (18:45 - 07:15), 36 or 48 hours per week, every other weekend required Highlights:

• Fast-paced 24-bed Intermediate Intensive Care unit with 4:1 nurse-to-patient ratio
• Diverse case mix including heart failure, post-cardiac procedures, cardiac telemetry monitoring, and medical-surgical patients
• Epic charting system with full interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory services, rapid response teams, and pharmacy
• Contract options available including 20-week assignments; 36-hour unit orientation provided
• Opportunity to float to Cardiac Telemetry unit as needed based on facility requirements
• Comprehensive patient care including post-catheterization, electrophysiology procedures, vasoactive medication management, and airway support

Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years of recent progressive care or telemetry nursing experience required
• Previous travel nursing experience required; first-time travelers will not be accepted
• Active RN license (North Carolina or Compact state)
• Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
• Demonstrated competency in telemetry interpretation, dysrhythmia management, IV starts, peripheral line care, non-invasive airway management, post-cardiac catheterization care, and post-cardiac/vascular surgical care
• Experience with Epic documentation system required
• Must successfully pass EKG testing prior to start date
• Flu vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions only)
• Willingness to float to other cardiac units as needed

Preferred Qualifications:

• Charge nurse experience
• Wound care and wound vac experience

Patient Population & Diagnoses: The unit provides 24/7 nursing observation, monitoring, and intervention to adult (18-65 years) and geriatric (65+ years) patients with medical-surgical, cardiac, renal, bariatric surgery, pulmonary, and trauma-related conditions. Priority admissions include acutely decompensated heart failure, new onset heart failure, post-procedural cardiac patients, acute coronary syndrome, patients requiring telemetry monitoring, and those on insulin drips or vasoactive medications. Specialized Care Includes:

• Pre and post cardiac catheterization, interventional procedures, and electrophysiology studies
• Management of pericardial drains, chest tubes, and arterial/venous sheaths
• Post-TAVR (Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement) patients
• High-flow nasal cannula, continuous BiPAP, CPAP, and Opti-flow support
• Cardioversions performed on unit with cardiology and anesthesia support
• Continuous EKG monitoring, pulse oximetry, and non-invasive pressure monitoring
• Vasoactive IV medication administration and titration per protocol
