Registered Behavior Technician (RBT)

About the Opportunity

Noor Talents Staffing is proud to partner with Playful Minds Therapy (PMT), a provider of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy for children with autism and developmental needs.

We are seeking Part-Time Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs) who are dependable, compassionate, energetic, and comfortable working in an active, play-based therapeutic environment.

RBTs provide direct, one-on-one ABA services under the supervision of a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). Because services are provided to children in a play-based setting, this position involves regular physical activity and direct interaction with learners throughout the workday.

Candidates who are not yet RBT certified may also be considered an appropriate training pathway, based on current hiring needs and eligibility requirements.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

As an RBT, you will work under the supervision and direction of a BCBA and other designated clinical leadership. Essential responsibilities include:

• Provide direct 1:1 ABA therapy to assigned learners in accordance with treatment plans and clinical direction.
• Implement behavior intervention plans, skill-acquisition programs, and other clinical protocols as trained and directed.
• Support learners in developing communication, social, play, self-help, and daily living skills.
• Collect accurate session data and complete required clinical documentation within established timeframes.
• Observe learner behavior and communicate relevant information to the supervising BCBA and clinical team.
• Use reinforcement, prompting, modeling, redirection, and other approved ABA strategies.
• Participate in play-based activities, including activities conducted on the floor, in play areas, gyms, classrooms, and other treatment spaces.
• Maintain appropriate supervision and remain attentive to learner safety throughout sessions.
• Respond appropriately to learner movement, including walking, running, climbing, transitions, or attempts to leave designated treatment areas, consistent with training and approved safety procedures.
• Assist learners with transitions between treatment areas and activities.
• Maintain treatment materials and help keep therapy spaces safe, organized, and appropriate for learners.
• Collaborate professionally with BCBAs, fellow RBTs, clinical leadership, and other authorized members of the learner's care team.
• Follow applicable clinical, safety, confidentiality, HIPAA, organizational, and BACB requirements.
• Perform other duties reasonably related to the position and learner’s care.

Physical Requirements

• The physical requirements below reflect activities that may be necessary to perform the essential functions of this position in a play-based ABA therapy environment.
• Employees in this role must be able to, with or without reasonable accommodation:
  • Frequently stand and walk for extended periods during therapy sessions.
  • Frequently transition between standing, sitting, kneeling, crouching, and floor-level positions while engaging with children.
  • Get down to and rise from the floor repeatedly throughout the workday.
  • Sit on the floor, mats, child-sized seating, or other appropriate treatment surfaces while providing therapy.
  • Bend, reach, squat, kneel, crouch, and move throughout treatment and play areas.
  • Use hands and arms to handle therapy materials, toys, learning tools, electronic devices, and other treatment equipment.
  • Push, pull, carry, reposition, or move therapy materials and equipment as reasonably required for treatment activities.
  • Lift and carry up to 25 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds occasionally, when necessary for assigned job duties and consistent with applicable safety procedures.
  • Walk briskly or move quickly for short distances when necessary to maintain appropriate proximity to a learner or respond to a potential elopement or other safety concern.
  • Navigate active play environments that may include mats, toys, play structures, child-sized furniture, stairs, and other treatment equipment.
  • Maintain sufficient balance, mobility, coordination, and spatial awareness to safely work around active children.
  • Perform repetitive hand and arm movements associated with data collection, documentation, play activities, and implementation of treatment programs.
  • Observe learner behavior and environmental conditions sufficiently to respond to clinical and safety needs.
  • Communicate effectively with learners and team members during treatment and safety-related situations.

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 18 years of age.
• Ability to communicate effectively and professionally.
• Ability to work appropriately and patiently with children.
• Reliable attendance and punctuality.
• Ability to follow written and verbal clinical instructions.
• Ability to collect data and complete required documentation accurately.
• Ability to perform the essential functions of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Availability to work assigned part-time shifts based on learner and center scheduling needs.
• Ability to satisfy applicable background screening, training, credentialing, and compliance requirements.

Work Environment

This position is primarily performed in an active ABA therapy center serving children. The work environment may include frequent movement, children play activities, varying noise levels, toys and therapeutic equipment, and interactions with learners who may display challenging or unpredictable behaviors.

Employees must remain attentive to learner supervision, environmental safety, clinical protocols, and treatment expectations throughout their assigned sessions.
